Is there a space before “ipconfig” within powershell? Have you tried to run it in cmd prompt? Click start, type “cmd” - right click and run as admin Then type “ipconfig” and hit enter. ipconfig /all on your PC will only show you all the info your PC has - so if your PC isn't getting an IP / Gateway, then it just doesn't have it. If you want to set an IP and gateway based on his Mac settings, have him type ifconfig -a in a terminal, and then use an IP address in the same subnet, and the same gateway on your PC. In windows I can use ipconfig /all and this displays all the info about my connection.. In terminal using ifconfig does not and only supplies limited info. I can use network manager, but it would be useful to know the command line alternative. I even went as fas as buying a new network card and it still does not work. I am making a connection, but no packets are being transferred. There seems to be a problem with the software. When I type in ipconfig /release or /renew I get a message that says the adapter is not in a state to perform that command. ipconfig /flushdns does work however.
